Hyundai Mipo Wins Order for LPG Pair

Hyundai Mipo Dockyard, a subsidiary of South Korean shipbuilding giant Hyundai Heavy Industries, has received an order for construction of two LPG carriers from an undisclosed client registered in Marshall Islands.   The LPG pair is valued at KRW 115.3 billion (around USD 98.5 million), Hyundai Mipo said in a filing to Korea stock exchange.   The two ships are scheduled to be completed and handed over by the end of August, 2017.   The announcement comes just a fe...

NYK and Mitsubishi acquire stake in SBM Offshore FPSO

Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK) and Mitsubishi Corp have both bought minority stakes in SBM Offshore's FPSO Turritella. The partners will contribute $590m in cash payments to the joint venture companies which own and operate the FPSO, with the first $446m payment made today. NYK has bought a 30% interest, and Mitsubishi has acquired a 15% stake, with SBM Offshore holding the remaining 55%. Maersk Line orders nine vessels at HHI for $1.1bn

Maersk Line announced today that it has signed a contract with Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) for the construction of nine 14,000 teu ships worth a total of $1.1bn.   The contract, signed by Maersk and HHI in Copenhagen today, includes options for a further eight vessels. Hyundai in Talks for Up to 11 Vessels
