Singapore-based shipping company Eastern Pacific Shipping has placed an order for two 115,000 dwt ECO Aframax tankers with the Philippines’ shipbuilder Hanjin Subic, according to data provided by VesselsValue.
The contract, which will see the company pay USD 43 million for each ship, includes an option for two more tankers of the same capacity.
Featuring 21,124 MT, the new ships are scheduled to join their owner in 2018.
Eastern Pacific Shipping operates a fleet of 67 vessels, including 16 bulkers, 32 containerships, 17 tankers and 2 LPG vessels. The company’s fleet has a market value of over USD 1.9 billion, VesselsValue data shows.
With the new order, the shipping firm’s newbuilding fleet increased to 13 ships, all of which are set to join the company by 2019.
